Community guidelines

Draft: this page is being reviewed before GoodLoop launches and may change. Questions? Email hello@mygoodloop.app.
GoodLoop works because people show up for each other. These guidelines keep it that way.
Lift people up
- Celebrate wins of every size. Nobody’s small step is too small.
- Disagree kindly, or scroll on. Pile-ons, mockery and point-scoring don’t belong here.
- Be real. Share your own story, not a highlight reel built to make others feel behind.
Not allowed
- Harassment and bullying, including targeted insults, threats and encouraging others to pile on.
- Hate based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, disability, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation or age.
- Encouraging self-harm, suicide or eating disorders, including “tips” or challenges. Talking about your own hard times is welcome; we may add support information.
- Violence: threats, glorifying violence or graphic content.
- Sexual content and any sexualisation of minors (we report this to the authorities).
- Scams and spam: get-rich schemes, fake giveaways, unsolicited promotion, misleading links.
- Other people’s private information, such as addresses, phone numbers or photos shared without permission.
- Dangerous misinformation, especially about health.
- Impersonation of other people or organisations.
If someone may be at risk
Report the post and choose “Self-harm”. Urgent reports go to the front of our queue. If someone is in immediate danger, call 999. Samaritans are free on 116 123, 24/7.
How moderation works
- A word filter holds back the most harmful posts before they go live.
- Anyone can report a post from its ••• menu. When several people report the same post, it’s hidden while we review it.
- Moderators review every report and choose an outcome: no action, a warning, removing the content, or suspending or closing the account.
- You can block anyone from the ••• menu on their posts. They won’t be told.
Appeals
If you think we got it wrong, email hello@mygoodloop.app from your account’s email address within 30 days. Someone who wasn’t involved in the first decision will look again.
