Terms of service

1. Who can use GoodLoop

You must be 18 or over and able to agree to these terms. One person, one account. Keep your sign-in details to yourself.

2. What GoodLoop is, and isn’t

GoodLoop is a positive social app with daily challenges, progress tracking and a community. It is not a medical, mental health or therapy service and doesn’t give medical advice. If you’re struggling, please contact a doctor or Samaritans on 116 123 (free, 24/7, UK and Ireland). In an emergency, call 999.

3. Your content

You own what you post. You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, display and adapt it (for example, resizing a photo) so GoodLoop can work. The licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except where others have already reshared it inside the app or where we must keep it for legal or safety reasons.

Only post things you have the right to share, and don’t post other people’s personal information without their permission.

4. Community rules

Follow our community guidelines. We may remove content, limit features, or suspend or close accounts that break them. Where we can, we’ll tell you why and how to appeal.

5. GoodLoop Plus

• Plus is an optional auto-renewing subscription, sold monthly or yearly through Apple’s App Store. The app shows the price for your country before you buy.
• Payment is taken by Apple when you confirm the purchase. It renews automatically unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• Manage or cancel in your iPhone’s Settings, under your name, then Subscriptions. Cancelling keeps Plus until the end of the period you’ve paid for.
• If a free trial is offered and you don’t cancel before it ends, the subscription starts automatically.
• Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies. Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected.
• If Plus ends, your account, XP, wins and achievements stay. Plus-only cosmetics switch back to the standard ones.

6. Things you mustn’t do

• Break the law, or help anyone else to.
• Try to get into accounts or data that aren’t yours, or disrupt the service.
• Scrape, copy or resell GoodLoop or its content in bulk.
• Use bots or fake accounts, or manipulate XP, streaks, reactions or reports.

7. Changes and availability

We’re always improving GoodLoop, so features may change. We’ll give you reasonable notice of changes to these terms that affect you, and if you don’t agree you can stop using GoodLoop and delete your account.

8. Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time (see how). Deleting your account doesn’t cancel an Apple subscription, so cancel that first.

9. Our responsibility to you

We provide GoodLoop with reasonable care and skill. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can’t be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Otherwise, we’re not responsible for losses that weren’t reasonably foreseeable, or for content posted by other members.

10. The legal bits

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere in the UK or the EU, you also keep the protections of your local law and can bring a claim in your local courts.
